Elizabethan Society

The Elizabthen Society was a time in history of Queen Elizabeth I, where English literature and talents were recognised. Many playwrighters like William Shakespeare were acknowledged as apart of this era due to their contributions and talents towards English.

The Globe Theatre

The Globe Theatre was a theatre in London where most of Shakespeare’s greatest plays were performed. Plays include; Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet and the Comedy of Errors. Located in Southwark London in Park Street the theatre played a huge significance in the life of William Shakespeare due to the fact that most of his masterpieces were brought to life.

The King’s Chamberlian Man

The name Lord Chamberlian is the king of the people, hence the name Chamberlian Man. He was the king of the people and lived in the time of William Shakespeare. He was an actor in one of Shakespeare’s plays “Will Shakespeare save us!

Tragedies, Comedies and Histories.

Tragedies in Shakespears plays are used to emphasise pain, hurt and suffering. One of his plays are “Romeo and Juliet” which are associated with this. Another would be Comedies, used to create laughter and enjoyment. The “Comedy of Errors” is a play containing this. Histories are used to re-write the past and the play with this is “King Chamberlain, the king of the people”.

Our play: “As you like it”

In this play there is a father who is a king and passes away. HBefore he dies he tells his oplder son “Oliver” to spare all his riches so that he could look after him and his brother “Orlando”. Oliver doesn’t like this one bit and goes and starts a fight with Orlando. Orlando is furious and wants to go and fight a wrestler to take out all his frustrations. He fights Charles the wrestler and looses because his brother inteferes. While Orlando is upset, a girl called Rosalind comes in and decides to comfort Orlando. She texpresses her feelings for him and tells him how much she loves him. Her father soon realises that she is flirting with Orlando and he doesn’t like that. So it goes on that she asks Orlando to go on with her out of town to live with her sister Celia. He agrees and they run away and live happily ever after.
